The Story of Preston gallery on the first floor is now closed and work is well underway to transform the gallery into an inspiring space filled with favourite objects, like the 12,000 year-old Poulton Elk, plus new stories investigating what makes Preston special.
A new Discovery Room will provide opportunities for all visitors to investigate our collections more closely.
The new history gallery is due to open Summer 2012.
We are very grateful to all of the project funders, including the Heritage Lottery Fund and Friends of the Harris Museum & Art Gallery for helping us to make our plans a reality.
