Passage, by French artist Robert Cahen, is a series of video installations that consider the human experience of the flow of time, journeys and transiency, dreams and memories, reality and perception.
Haunting, poetic, ethereal - Cahen’s work is often very moving, communicating with the viewer on an emotional level, rather than purely aesthetic.
Cahen is one of the pioneering forces in experimental video art. Having trained as a composer at the Paris Conservatoire in the early 1970’s, he began to experiment with the revolutionary new technologies associated with video, film, photography and music. His work has subsequently been exhibited world wide, with recent major exhibitions in Hong Kong, China, Uzbekistan, Norway, Congo, Switzerland and France. This exhibition features work spanning 25 years of the artist’s career, and is his first solo exhibition in the UK.
Robert Cahen is represented by
la Galerie Lucien Schweitzer, Luxembourg.
