images/PDFs

Exhibition
31 August – 3 November

A contemporary exhibition of paintings and photographs created by Lubaina Himid visualising North West legacy stories assembled from 50 people who participated in London 2012 from the sports stadium to culture, from schools to businesses and volunteers.

Thousands of people in the North West have been involved in projects connected with the London 2012 Olympics.

The impact of this participation has been very significant and the memories will last for years for many people.
This archive project by international artist, Lubaina Himid visualises 50 of their stories in a series called Moments that Matter.

Each of the 50 Trophy Cups painted on paper is individually made using the unique words and descriptions shared by participants with the artist.

Look out for the Moments that Matter banners in the windows of shops as you enjoy the celebrations,
