Part-Time Project Co-ordinator - Preston Remembers

Fixed term Contract to Sept 2012
Salary: £23,708 - £25,472 per annum pro rata
Preston City Council will submit a Stage 2 Heritage Lottery Fund application in September 2012 to conserve the landmark war memorial designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and to create a setting appropriate to its significance and to make it meaningful to people in Preston. A complementary programme of community engagement activities will take place to enable local people to understand the impact of conflict, particularly the 1st World War, on Preston.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the skills to contribute to the development of the application by co-ordinating and leading on the planning of a learning and participation programme to engage local people with the meaning and history of the memorial.
The successful applicant will prepare an Activity Plan to HLF guidelines which will involve local people in interpreting their history through a programme which will be delivered from 2013 to 2016. He/She will develop partnership working between the participating museums, community organisations, artists, historians and volunteers and to build awareness and support for the project.
