Museum of the Moon Instameet

Museum of the Moon at Lakes Alive, UK (c) Luke Jerram

Friday 1 February
Into Instagram and want to explore the Museum of the Moon?  Then this is your chance to photograph the 7 metre moon from different levels in our Grade-I listed buildling.

The Harris has teamed up with Blog Preston to host the Museum of the Moon InstaMeet. It's a great chance for #igersofPreston to really explore this amazing artwork.

An InstaMeet gets Instagrammers together in a venue to take photographs. All you need to take part is a smart phone with an Instagram account and your best filters! All pictures should be hashtagged #igesrpreston and #harrismuseum #MuseumOfTheMoon.

Meet at the Harris cafe at 5.30pm for a quick briefing before setting off around the building. We expect to finish no later than 7pm.

Places are free, but must be booked.
1 ticket per signup - please register individually.
Please book on Harris Eventbrite here.

The Museum of the Moon is an incredible combination of technical and scientific skill that creates a personal connection with the viewer. Made using detailed NASA moon imagery and fusing moonlight and surround sound music, British installation artist Luke Jerram's 23-foot high, giant three-dimensional moon will be suspended in the centre of The Harris' Grade I listed building.
