The Harris Museum & Art Gallery works with two local high schools and local artists on this project which aims to teach citizenship through art & history.

Lostock Hall Community High School & Arts College
With the help of museum staff, students learnt about migration, Preston’s Caribbean community and the creation of the Caribbean Carnival. This work informed the accompanying art project making carnival costumes.

Fulwood High School
Students visited the Harris to look at objects from the Decorative Art collection, making sketches and notes that would inform workshops back at school. During six sessions with an artist they created embellished textile pieces.
